Campaign Manager access via LinkedIn Business Manager User Interface

In this article, you will find all the steps you need to follow to grant MSIGHTS access to your LinkedIn ad account via LinkedIn Business Manager (BETA)


LinkedIn Business Manager uses a two-tiered permissions model that helps each user get the access they need across Business Manager, ad accounts, and Pages:

  • Tier 1 - A person’s Business Manager role determines what they can see and do in Business Manager.

  • Tier 2 - A person is then provided access to the specific ad accounts and Pages they need to do their job.

Please note that you must be a LinkedIn Business Manager admin to invite people (Tier 1).


Tier 1

Step 1: Log in to Business Manager (https://www.linkedin.com/marketing/enterprise-login)


Step 2: Click "People" in the menu on the left side of the page.

Step 3: Click the "Invite people" button in the upper-right corner of the page.

Step 4: "Operations MSIGHTS" (this LinkedIn profile is associated with the email address data.social@msights.com), select the user from the list, select Contractor as the business role, and then click "Invite". 

If you need to re-send an email invitation, click the Envelope icon to the right of the person’s name. You can also copy a unique activation link, which can be shared with the person to accept the invitation.


Tier 2

The people to be added must be invited to Business Manager (Tier 1 steps) and accept their invitation to join. Once this is done, add people to an ad account by following the steps below:

Step 1: Click on "Ad accounts" in the menu on the left side of the page, then locate the ad account you would like to share with MSIGHTS and click the name of the ad account.

Step 3: Click the "Add people" button in the upper-right corner of the page.

Step 4: Select the MSIGHTS user to add to the ad account using the checkboxes on the left side of the page.

  • Click the "Assign role" button in the upper-right corner of the page.

  • Select "Campaign Manager" as a role in the pop-up window that appears.

  • Click the "Add" button.

Step 5: Campaigns promoting LinkedIn member posts are restricted to users who also have access to your LinkedIn company page. Please note that you must be a Super Admin of your company page to assign to the MSIGHTS user one of the required page roles listed below.

  1. ADMINISTRATOR

  2. DIRECT_SPONSORED_CONTENT_POSTER

  3. CONTENT_ADMIN

Without company page access MSIGHTS will not have access to performance data for campaigns that promote LinkedIn member posts.

Step 6: Confirm your ad account Name and ID with your MSIGHTS representative.

Step 7: LinkedIn Page access is required. Role: Lead Gen Forms Manager
